Postdocs in Lee lab at Biological Sciences-UB

The Lee lab by Professors Soo and Jae Lee at Biological Sciences-UB has immediate positions open for 2-3 postdocs.

While we work on three distinct areas of neurodevelopment, spinal cord motoneuron and interneuron development, hypothalamus neuronal development and forebrain development, our main focus in the next few years will be on uncovering the biology behind roles of the transcription factor FOXG1 in forebrain development and FOXG1 syndrome caused by inactivation of a single copy of the FOXG1 gene in human.

In particular, we have established a series of mouse models that recapitulate the wide spectrum of symptoms in human FOXG1 syndrome patients, and you can explore these mouse models using various neurobehavioral setups.

The studies also involve classical neurodevelopmental studies including molecular and cellular biology and mouse genetics as well as cutting edge omics studies such as single cell RNA-seq and CUT&RUN genomic mapping studies for binding sites for transcription factors and epigenetic coregulators. We also run translational projects designed to find the cure for the FOXG1 syndrome, including exploration of small chemicals, non-coding RNAs, gene therapy, and gene editing.

The salary will follow the NIH guideline (postdoc with no prior experience, $53,760 for FY 2021)

If you are interested in these positions, please e-mail Professor Jae Lee at jlee269@buffalo.edu
